Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘ABCD 2’ dances its way to glory, becomes highest opener of 2015

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the information.

With this, ‘ABCD 2’ has become the highest opener of the year 2015, followed by ‘Gabbar Is Back’ (Rs 13.05 cr) and ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ (Rs 10.53 cr).

‘ABCD 2’ also has got the highest opening for a Varun Dhawan film.

Having opened to mixed reviews, ‘ABCD 2’ has been appreciated for the dance shown in its purest form and the lead stars – Varun and Shraddha – have been praised for the hard work they have put in. The supporting actors and dancers have also been applauded.

Directed by choreographer-turned-director Remo DSouza, ‘ABCD 2’ was made on a modest budget and can be expected to churn out even bigger numbers in the coming days, as the word of mouth grows. In an interview to Indian Express, Remo had said, “I had expected ABCD to do better business but I realise it’s chiefly a TV success. This time, I want to see the box-office opening.” Guess, his wish has come true.
