Twinkle Khanna recalls banging her foot on iron rod while trying to kick Saif Ali Khan: ‘He was standing and laughing, but…’

Twinkle Khanna shared a humorous anecdote from one of her films with Saif Ali Khan. She tried to kick Saif in one of their scenes but ended up hurting her foot badly.

Before leaving the film industry, Twinkle Khanna starred in a few films in the 90s and early 2000s. Recently, she conducted an interview with the legendary actor and Saif Ali Khan’s mother, Sharmila Tagore. During their conversation, Twinkle shared a humorous anecdote involving an attempt to kick Saif that resulted in an injury.

Twinkle recalled how Saif used to diligently practice all his dance moves, sweating profusely and expressing frustration during rehearsals. She told Sharmila during an interview for Tweak India, “He worked really hard,” and then proceeded to share a funny incident from one of their films. In this particular scene, Twinkle attempted to kick Saif, but he quickly moved out of the way, causing her foot to collide with an iron rod. After the mishap, Saif first laughed at Twinkle and then accompanied her to the hospital.

Twinkle humorously recounted the incident, saying, “Saif and I used to bicker a lot, we used to fight a lot. We were so immature. Once, I tried kicking him before the shot started, and he moved, and I banged my leg on an iron rod. I had a big bump, and he was standing and laughing. But he did come with me to the hospital; he was sweet like that.”

During the interview, Sharmila Tagore revealed that despite their upbringing to follow in their father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi’s footsteps, Saif and his siblings (Soha Ali Khan) chose careers in films, influenced by their mother’s career in the industry. She explained, “They were all brought up to follow their father’s footsteps, but I don’t know how it happened; they were all interested in films.”

The veteran star also shared that her appearance in an advertisement with her husband, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, generated interest among producers in Saif, leading to casting offers.

Saif Ali Khan and Twinkle Khanna appeared together in films like Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001), Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan (1999), and Dil Tera Diwana (1996).
