The Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi-starrer Tiger 3 experienced a surge in box office numbers on its third Saturday, following a decline last week. After minting Rs 3.80 crore on Friday, director Maneesh Sharma’s film witnessed an almost 57 percent increase, raking in Rs 6 crore on Saturday. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 264.70 crore. Tiger 3 had an overall 19.94% Hindi Occupancy on Saturday.
Katrina and Salman reprise their roles as spies Avinash and Zoya. Emraan takes on the role of the antagonist, and the cast also includes actors Revathy and Vishal Jethwa. The film had an impressive start at the box office despite releasing on Diwali and minted Rs 44.5 crore on the opening day. According to Sacnilk, Tiger 3 has minted Rs 420 crore worldwide.
The film is the fifth in YRF’s spy series, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War and Pathaan. However, it hasn’t been able to match the performance of most other films in the franchise. Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan earned Rs 543.05 crore in India, and War, starring Hrithik Roshan, made Rs 317.91 crore. To beat War’s collections in India, Tiger 3 still needs to make over Rs 53 crore.
In 2023, several Hindi movies had impressive opening days. Jawan led with Rs 65.5 crore, followed by Pathaan at 57 crore. Tiger 3 earned Rs 44.5 crore, Gadar 2 made Rs 40.1 crore, and Adipurush minted Rs 37.25 crores.
Tiger 3 was produced on a reported budget of Rs 300 crore, and has been facing no competition at the box office during its entire run. But next week, it will be impacted by Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur.
