Singer B Praak is all set to recreate the iconic song “Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee” from filmmaker Karan Johar’s directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. This exciting development was shared by Praak on his Instagram, where he expressed his gratitude to KJo for granting him permission to reimagine this beloved track.
“Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee” was originally sung by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Manpreet Akhtar. It was composed by Jatin-Lalit.
Karan Johar also took to his Instagram story to share the news and wrote, “Version 2.0.”
All the tracks from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai were originally released under the Sony Music label. Announcing the recreation of “Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee”, Sony Music India’s official Instagram page wrote, “Throwback Tuesday: After 25 years, here’s bringing back all the feels with #TujheYaadNaMeriAayee by @bpraak and @jaani777 😍 Coming soon.”
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai delves into a captivating love triangle involving Anjali (Kajol), Tina (Rani Mukerji), and Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan). The story unfolds during their college years, where Anjali harbours feelings for her best friend Rahul, who, in turn, falls for Tina, a new student. After Tina’s untimely demise, their eight-year-old daughter endeavors to reunite her father and Anjali.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai originally graced the silver screen on October 16, 1998. It will complete 25 years of release on October 16. The film received numerous awards and garnered overwhelming praise from both audiences and critics alike.
