While Sushmita Sen has played some power-packed roles, she also has given some of the best phrases to the world. Be it ‘babu’, ‘haye mera bachcha’ to now ‘Dugga dugga’, her colloquial words have become quite popular among fans. In a recent interview with indianexpress.com, the former Miss Universe also made the big revelation about how David Dhawan used her personal conversation with Salman Khan as a part of Biwi No 1.

During the promotions of Taali, we got Sushmita to answer some fun questions. We asked her about the phrase that most people ask her to replicate again. The actor, with a loud laugh, picked the dialogue from Biwi No. 1 and how it always ‘comes to her’. She then went on to narrate how her personal words went on to become a part of her character’s dialogue.

“It’s funny.. haye mera bachcha is not from the film. Mujhe laga cut hogaya hai scene (I thought we were done with the scene) and I just held Salman and pulled him to say ‘haye mera bachcha’. And the camera was still rolling and David kept it. So it’s actually my own lingo,” Sushmita Sen shared with a broad smile.

Earlier, Sushmita Sen spoke about her decision to take a step back from films and how it coincided well with her responsibilities as a single mother. The actor also mentioned that she felt underutilised on film sets, making her feel that she was wasting her time.

“As a woman, and I speak for myself at least, there’s a lot of mother guilt, parent guilt. I am on a set, and I am waiting endlessly for XYZ to arrive. But I am not really working. Then I have a 9-6 shift, which is dragging to another 9 with no fault of mine. In that situation, I was neither being a professional nor a mother. I was just wasting my time, and I didn’t want that. So I decided.. and it happened at the same time as Alisah was a baby. No Problem was my last film. At that point, I was not really enjoying anything, not learning, I wasn’t motivated to go to work,” the 47-year-old shared. Sushmita added that in her second inning, she is the first one to be on the set as there’s a ‘childlike excitement’: “It took a while but it’s back.”
