Months after she suffered a heart attack while she was in Rajasthan for the shoot of the third season of her hit Disney Plus Hotstar series Aarya, actor Sushmita Sen on Tuesday announced she is back on set for the show. In a video posted on Twitter, Sen said she has resumed filming for Aarya season 3, with “twice the strength”.
Sushmita had revealed about suffering a heart attack through an Instagram post on March 2. The 35-second teaser, showcases Sen in full form, displaying her sword fighting skills with the actor’s voiceover, “One life. Twice the strength. It’s time for round three.” The teaser ends with heavy breathing by Sen, as the title card flashes, “Aarya season 3, created by Ram Madhvani, back to shoot.

Talking about the show, Sen said in a statement that Aarya stands for strength and her “unabashed spirit is now an inevitable” part of her. “With Aarya, I stepped into a whole new territory and channeled her fearless aura to navigate further into her character. Now that we’ve seen her ace the game, it’s time to take things up a notch higher and try something we’ve never done before.
“With the third chapter in Aarya’s life, the audience will see her in a whole new action-packed avatar as she takes control as a fearless mother, daughter and a woman. I am excited to dive into this new side of my character, especially with the swords-play that Aarya learns as her personality evolves and she comes more into her own!”
Season three of the show is produced by Ram Madhvani and Endemol Shine India. Previously, Sen’s co-actor Vikas Kumar had revealed she suffered the attack while she was shooting and said the team of Aarya didn’t even know about her health condition until she revealed it on Instagram.
“In the beginning, even she didn’t know what happened. Tests were done and all. She finally came to know that it was a heart attack, and that’s when she shared it on Instagram. Till then, none of us, actors, knew about it. That’s how it should be because otherwise, it becomes noise. She didn’t want it that way. She wanted to tell the world herself,” Kumar had shared.
Later during an Instagram Live, Sen spoke about what happened, and said, “I survived a very big heart attack. It was very big. 95 percent blockage in the main artery. It was a phase and it passed. It doesn’t put fear in my heart.”
