Sushant Singh Rajput's father had earlier said that the reason he approached Bihar Police with a complaint against actor Rhea Chakraborty was that Mumbai Police had not acted on complaints sent to them in February.
In February, four months before actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, his police officer brother-in-law OP Singh messaged a senior Mumbai police officer claiming that the family feared his life was “going downhill” and was at risk.
However, while the CBI is investigating the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, his sisters continue to miss their younger brother fondly. Recently on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, one of Sushant's four sisters, Meetu Singh penned down her feelings.
She wrote, "Bhai, We are still in a state of shock and can’t believe that you aren’t there physically with us. The excruciating pain & the void you have left behind is immense and indescribable.My precious brother, my jaan,I still can’t say goodbye. I will maintain our sacred bond within my heart And shall keep it alive till eternity. I will keep laughing and crying on our shared memories, Until we meet again, bhai. You will always be my pride!"
People from the film fraternity, including Anupam Kher and Swastika Mukherjee, want justice for Sushant. Anupam Kher had released a video where he said, "“Not saying anything is turning your heads away at this crucial juncture. Without blaming anybody, we should ensure that this case reaches a logical end. As a co-actor and as a human being, it seems fair to do so. He (Sushant) was someone’s brother and son, so it doesn’t seem right to keep one’s silence at this point.”
He added, "Who is and who isn’t at fault, that should be found out. Turning away from the issue at this point would be a cowardly act, and it isn’t a good thing to be a coward."
Swastika Mukherjee, who shared screen space with Sushant Singh Rajput in Dil Bechara, recently wrote on Twitter, "YES. Let CBI do the needful and bring justice to Him and his family. I guess we are done with the plot twisting."

As reported by The Indian Express, Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty came to the ED office after noon on Friday after the ED rejected her request to postpone the questioning till the Supreme Court heard her petition, seeking transfer of the case lodged by Bihar police to Mumbai. “In view of the fact that the ED has informed the media that the request to postpone her attendance is rejected, Rhea has appeared before the ED office,” her advocate Satish Maneshinde said, adding that she is a law-abiding citizen and would cooperate with the probe.
IPS officer Vinay Tiwari returned to Patna on Friday declined to share the findings of the investigation carried out by his team asserting that doing so would be "inappropriate", reported PTI. "I must add, our investigation had progressed at great speed in 10 days and had moved in the right direction," he said.
On Friday, PTI reported that the CBI has collected the case diary and related documents from the Bihar police in connection with the alleged suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
As reported by The Indian Express, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday questioned actor Rhea Chakraborty for nearly eight hours in connection with its money laundering case against her and her family members. The ED case is based on an FIR filed on a complaint by actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh in Patna, accusing Chakraborty and her family members of cheating and siphoning funds from Rajput’s bank accounts.

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a PIL seeking a CBI or NIA probe into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, saying "strangers" are "unnecessarily" coming when his father is already pursuing the case, reported PTI. A bench comprising Chief Justice S A Bobde and Justices A S Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian junked the PIL filed by Mumbai-based law student Dwivendra Devtadeen Dubey on the issue. "Deceased's father is pursuing the case. There is no reason that he will not pursue it properly. You are a stranger in this matter and you are unnecessarily coming in this. We will not permit this," the bench said. "Don't waste our time. Dismissed," it said.
Bihar IPS officer #VinayTiwari, who came to Mumbai for probe in #SushantSinghRajput's death and was quarantined by BMC, left for Patna. He told ANI, "I would say I wasn't quarantined, the investigation was quarantined. Investigation of Bihar Police was obstructed."
Ekta Kapoor took to Instagram to share the first scene Sushant Singh Rajput shot for his debut TV show Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil. The makers of Suicide or Murder – A star was lost on Friday announced that model-actor Shwetta Parashar wll be playing the female lead in the film. Claiming that the movie is not a biopic of Sushant Singh Rajput, the makers said it has been inspired by the struggles of several outsiders who hope to make it big in the industry.
Earlier, it was announced that TikTok sensation Sachin Tiwari will be playing the 'outsider', while model Rana will play 'a big-shot film producer who only launches star kids' in the movie. Directed by Shamik Maulik, the film will go on floors in September. The makers hope to release the film by Christmas.

Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari spent his last five days of quarantine time in Mumbai, posting his own poetry on his Facebook and Twitter pages, though he said the police accommodation in Goregaon where he was in self-isolation, prevented him from composing more. “The location is very important for me to think, write and record my poetry,” said Tiwari, SP, Patna City (Central). A native of Lalitpur town in Uttar Pradesh, Tiwari had recorded the three poems he posted online this week at the Ranchod Dham Temple on the banks of Betwa river.

The Bihar police in its affidevit told the Supreme Court, "the “forcible quarantine” of Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari in Mumbai “is nothing but a result of afterthought… aimed at obstructing” the probe and “casts a serious aspersion on the role of Mumbai Police who is apparently siding with” Chakraborty “for the reasons best known to them.”

The Indian Express's Omkar Gokhale further tweeted that Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh for Centre submitted that to unearth the truth, Mumbai Police should not stand in a way of entrustment of case to CBI. "Manner in which Maharashtra Government is handling the case is questionable," ASG said.
A bench led by Chief Justice Dipankar Datta said that it cannot rush into hearing PILs in view of pending plea before SC. "We have to be cautious. There are judgements that say the discretion to transfer investigations to CBI has to be used sparingly," The Indian Express's Omkar Gokhale added.
The Indian Express's Omkar Gokhale tweeted, "The Bombay High Court refused to pass opinion or order in two PILs seeking transfer of Sushant Singh Rajput death case to CBI, awaiting SC order in pending transfer petition, which is to be heard on August 18. HC posted further hearing to August 21."
Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde said, "Rhea is a law abiding citizen. In view of the fact that ED has informed the media that the request to postpone the attendance is rejected... She has appeared in the ED at the appointed time and date."
ED has also asked Sushant's friend Siddharth Pithani to appear before the agency tomorrow, August 8, ANI reported.
According to ANI, Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Shruti Modi, the former business manager of Sushant Singh Rajput, asking her to appear before the agency today.
According to the BMC, the Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who was in Mumbai to probe the Sushant Singh Rajput case, has been released from quarantine, PTI reported.
The affidavit, filed by Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Upendra Sharma through advocate Keshav Mohan, said in criminal proceedings, the concept of jurisdiction cannot be applied like civil cases. In the affidavit, police also said that Sushant's father has claimed in his FIR that Rhea had met his son in 2019 with the sole intention to “grab crores of rupees”.
In the affidavit submitted to the apex court, police said that his father also claimed that Sushant, “wanted to leave the film industry and do organic farming in Coorg”. However, “Rhea “started blackmailing” him “by saying that she will give his medical report to the media and prove him mad after which he will not get any kind of work”.

Terming it “premature, misconceived and non-maintainable”, the Bihar government on Friday sought dismissal of actor Rhea Chakraborty’s plea in the Supreme Court, seeking transfer of the FIR filed in Patna to Mumbai in connection with death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, PTI reported. While responding to the apex court which had earlier sought a reply in this regard, the state police said the director general of police, through the Bihar government, had recommended the CBI probe given the sensitivity of the matter, interstate ramification and the presence of most of the accused in Mumbai.

The CBI on Thursday registered an FIR in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide. Sources said the agency has re-registered Patna Police’s FIR, with actor Rhea Chakraborty, the late actor’s friend, and her relatives as key accused among the six booked in the case. The Centre had on Wednesday issued orders for the CBI to take over Bihar Police’s FIR in the case after the state government recommended transfer of the probe to the central agency.

The Indian Express reports said, "The BMC has allowed Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari to return to Patna. In it's letter BMC has said that since Bihar Police has requested that Tiwari will return to Patna now, as per the SOP if person wants to return within seven days of his journey then he can be allowed to go back (before August 8). Tiwari has been asked to furnish return ticket to BMC on mentioned email id."
According to The Indian Express reporters, "In response to the summons sent by Enforcement Directorate to actor Rhea Chakraborty, to appear before it today, she through her lawyer advocate Satish Maneshinde has requested that the recording of her statement be postponed till the Supreme Court hears her petition."
