The Khichdi team is all set to serve another dose of comfort food to the audience. On Wednesday, the makers of Khichdi 2, Aatish Kapadia and JD Majethia, and its cast led by Supriya Pathak, Vandana Pathak, Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta and Kirti Kulhari, launched the trailer of the film in Mumbai.
Here, Supriya, who made Hansa, her character from the TV show and film franchise, her own, spoke about how she’s fallen in love with the character over the years.
Supriya said, “We were trying to do Khichdi 2 for a long time. Now that we got the opportunity to finally do it, we did not want to let go of it. We really want everyone to actually laugh and stay happy because a lot is happening in our environment. So we are just here to make you laugh.”
Supriya also shared that when she feels low, she revisits Hansa often. She said, “For me, Hansa is like medicine. Whenever I feel that life is not treating me well, all I have to do is call Aatish (Kapadia) and ask him where we are going to do Khichdi 2 and when I can rejuvenate myself with Hansa. Every time we come on the set to do Khichdi, we are happy. All our worries are behind us. That’s our wonderful journey. We are so happy with each other. The fact that we have been able to spend so much good time with each other for so many years is something I cherish.”
Supriya Pathak then shared that Hansa is ingrained in her and has become a part of her.
“We have been doing Khichdi for so long now, it is ingrained in us. Even if you wake us up in the middle of the night, we’ll be able to get into the character in no time, say our lines. In the beginning, we worked very hard ,and Aatish did the work with us. That hard work is showing today and it is because of that, we can get into our characters with so much ease.
“Now Hansa is a part of me and she’ll be with me until I die. Hansa is not leaving me anytime soon. She’ll be with me forever,” Supriya concluded.
Khichdi 2 is scheduled to be released in theatres on November 17.
