Gadar 2 makers dropped the teaser of the new version of “Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava” on Wednesday. Starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the film is a sequel of the 2001 hit Gadar and has the two lead actors reprising their characters Tara Singh and Sakeena.
The original song was composed by Uttam Singh but the recreation has been done by Mithoon. Late lyric writer Anand Bakshi has been credited as the lyricist here with vocals by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik.
Gadar 2 is all set to release on August 11. The film’s teaser was released a few weeks ago where Sunny Deol’s Tara Singh was shown to be in Pakistan in the year 1971. Director Anil Sharma, who helmed the original film, is also directing the sequel. Sharma’s son Utkarsh, who played the role of Tara and Sakeena’s young son Jeete, will also be reprising his role in the sequel.
A few days ago, Sunny Deol made an appearance as his Gadar character at his son Karan Deol’s sangeet ceremony.
On Tuesday, Ameesha Patel visited Mahim Dargah to seek blessings ahead of her film’s release.
Sunny Deol earlier shared his excitement about Gadar 2 and said in a statement, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha has been an eminent part of my life, personally as well as professionally. Tara Singh from Gadar isn’t just a protagonist but went on to become a cult icon that defied all odds and crossed all boundaries for his family and love. Collaborating with the team after, 22 years was a creatively enriching experience.”
