The much-anticipated trailer for the film Stolen has finally arrived, and it is nothing short of thrilling. What follows is a relentless, blood-soaked action chase, with Abhishek Banerjee and his brother, played by Shubham Bansal, caught in a deadly web of murder, violence, and raw emotion. The trailer climaxes with haunting visuals of Abhishek’s character brutally beaten and drenched in blood
Directed by Karan Tejpal, Stolen features a compelling cast including Mia Maelzer, who plays a tribal woman desperate to find her missing child, alongside Harish Khanna and Sahidur Rahaman in pivotal roles. The film boasts an impressive line-up of executive producers such as Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Nikkhil Advani, and Vikramaditya Motwane, names synonymous with bold and innovative Indian cinema.
According to the official synopsis, the story unfolds in the early morning hours at a railway station, where Gautam arrives to pick up his brother Raman for a lavish wedding. Their plans take a dark turn when they encounter Jhumpa, a frantic mother searching for her kidnapped baby. While Raman insists on helping Jhumpa, Gautam is reluctant to get involved. But a tragic case of mistaken identity pulls the brothers into a deadly chase, where every moment is a fight for survival.
Speaking about the film, Anurag Kashyap said in a press release, “Cinema that is strong, unflinching, relentless and emotionally raw will always grab you from the first frame and not let go—that’s exactly what Stolen did to me. What I love about this film is its refusal to conform. For me, cinema must be fearless, and Karan Tejpal has made a film that embodies that spirit. I’m excited it’s found its home on Prime Video, and the world can finally see this masterpiece thriller.”
Stolen made its debut at the prestigious Venice Film Festival in 2023, earning critical acclaim worldwide. In India, it premiered at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and was later featured at the 28th International Film Festival of Kerala. The film is set for its official digital release on Prime Video, scheduled for June 5th.
