Shah Rukh Khan is not just his fans’ favourite actor but also his co-stars’ favourite person. Every actor who has worked with him in his over 30 years of career, has only great things to say about him. However, his Happy New Year co-star Boman Irani seems to have a problem with him. In a recent interview, the actor shared his experience of working with the actor and called him “extremely boring”.
Speaking to Humans Of Bombay, Boman Irani fondly spoke about Shah Rukh Khan. He shared, “Shah Rukh (Khan) enjoys being on a set. He enjoys being with people. He enjoys the collective nature of creating a movie. For me, there is really a naughty side to him. He is very giving. He is very big hearted.”
The 3 Idiots actor has several favourite moments with Shah Rukh Khan. “If I have to make a list of my favourite moments from set and off-set, I think Shah Rukh will be in the top five. Straight up. There is no question about it.”
Explaining one of the reasons behind the actor being his favourite person, Boman shared, “Sometimes, when we are performing… and things go wrong, we find it funny. Rather than be desperate. That’s a great talent to have. We know we will get there. He knows he will.”
He also shared how Shah Rukh never lets his co-actors feel that he is a star. “Shah Rukh doesn’t allow you to think like that with him. He doesn’t allow you to get there.”
However, there is one problem that Boman has with Shah Rukh Khan. “Food,” he said. The actor explained, “He is extremely boring. He only eats tandoor chicken and nothing else. He is not a restaurant kinda guy. He will come with us, but he won’t eat. The food is lying over there, he is talking and it is getting cold and everybody is enjoying a lovely meal par Shah Rukh ko koi farq nahi padta ( but none of this affects SRK). So I do have a problem there. He doesn’t give me a company when it comes to food.”
In an earlier interview with RJ Devangana, Shah Rukh had spoken about his frugal habits when it comes to food. “I naturally prefer very simple food. I eat two meals a day: lunch and dinner. I eat nothing apart from these two meals. Mujhe pakwan pasand nahi (I don’t like fancy foods). I eat sprouts, grilled chicken, broccoli, sometimes a little bit of dal. This is all I have been eating repeatedly on a daily basis for several years,” he had said, while adding that he doesn’t diet.
