Sara Ali Khan and cricketer Shubman Gill were rumoured to be dating. The actor, however, denied all the speculation about her relationship with Gill during her appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 8.
A promo video of the talk show’s upcoming episode, featuring Sara and Ananya Panday, was recently released. In the clip, Sara is seen addressing the rumours of her and Shubman’s relationship saying, “You have got the wrong Sara, guys. Sara ka sara duniya galat Sara ke peechay pada hai (the whole world is after the wrong Sara),” leaving the show’s host Karan Johar in splits.
Shubman is rumoured to be dating legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar. Sara Tendulkar is often seen cheering for Shubman at the ongoing World Cup matches. The dating rumors surrounding Sara Ali Khan and Shubman began when they were spotted on a dinner date. However, Sara’s recent statement clarifies that they are not dating.
Previously, when asked if she would be open to marrying a cricketer like her grandmother, Sharmila Tagore, Sara expressed that the profession itself doesn’t matter to her. She emphasised that the person should match her mentally and intellectually. She told India Today, “I think that the kind of person that I am, to find somebody it doesn’t matter what they do — actor, cricketer, businessman, doctor… Maybe not doctors, they will run away. But you know the truth is that jokes apart, you will need to match me on the mental and intellectual level. And if you can do that, I think it’s great, wow but I think that would matter to me much, much more (than the profession).”
On the work front, Sara has an array of projects in the pipeline, these include Ae Watan Mere Watan, Metro… In Dino and Murder Mubarak.
