Samay Raina found himself at the centre of controversy after YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s inappropriate remark on India’s Got Latent went viral, leading to widespread outrage and multiple FIRs. In the aftermath, Samay removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube and has since stayed away from the streaming platform. However, the comedian has now broken his silence with a message shared in a “Members Only” post on YouTube.
Samay expressed affection for his fans by sharing a red heart emoji along with a virtual hug, without attaching any video or photo. The post reportedly amassed 7,000 likes and over 2,400 comments within just a minute.
A Reddit user shared a screenshot of Samay Raina’s post, captioning it, “Is there a bigger internet personality right now?” Many fans rallied behind the comedian in the comments section of the post. One fan wrote, “Iska comeback cwazzy hona chahiye” (Samay’s comeback should be crazy), while another expressed concern, saying, “I just hope he’s doing well.”
Recently, Samay Raina performed in Canada, where he jokingly referenced the India’s Got Latent controversy during his show. A fan, Shubham Dutt, who attended the performance, shared his experience on Facebook. He wrote, “For the first time, I saw a 25-year-old guy, weighed down by immense mental pressure, dark circles under his eyes, a sunken face, and unkempt hair, walk onto the stage in a dust-covered black hoodie. His first words into the mic? ‘Thanks for paying my lawyer’s fees.”
India’s Got Latent came under fire after an episode featured Ranveer Allahbadia asking a contestant an inappropriate question: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” The remark sparked massive backlash, leading to FIRs being filed against Ranveer, Samay, and other comedians present on the panel.
