Actor Salman Khan recently appeared on the show Aap Ki Adalat and talked at length about his plans to become a father. The actor, whose personal life is always of deep interest for fans, shared that even though he is not married, he wanted to have a child but the Indian law doesn’t permit him for the same.

At one point in the show, Salman had been asked about fulfilling his parents’ wish of him getting married. The actor said that while he is still unsure about marriage, he did indeed have plans of being a father.

Abhi kya bolu woh toh plan tha. Plan tha. Bahu ka nahi tha, baccha ka tha. Lekin ab woh law ke hisaab se woh toh Hindustan mein ho nahi sakta. Toh ab dekhenge kya kare (What to say, that was the plan. It wasn’t for a daughter-in-law, it was for a child. But according to the Indian laws, it’s not possible. Now we’ll see what to do),” the actor said.

Salman’s relationship status has always been a matter of public interest. The actor came closest to marriage when he was engaged to actor Sangeeta Bijlani and they were set to marry in 1994. However, the marriage was called off reportedly a month before the wedding.

When given the example of filmmaker Karan Johar, who welcomed his twin kids via surrogacy and co-parents them with his mother Hiroo Johar, Salman said he was thinking about that since he loves children.

Reacting to raising kids like Karan, Salman said, “Wahi main koshish kar raha tha lekin woh law shayad change hogaya hai. Toh ab dekhenge. Bachchon ka bada shaukh hai mujhe. I love kids. Lekin kids jab aate hai toh maa bhi aati hai. Maa unke liye bohut acchi hai, lekin humare ghar mein maa hi maa padi hai sir. Humare paas pura zila hai, pura gaon hai. Woh unka accha khayal rakh lengi. Lekin unki maa, jo real maa hongi, woh meri patni hogi (That’s what I was trying to do. But, that law may have changed, so let’s see. I am very fond of children. But when kids come then their mother also comes. A mother is good for them but we have a lot of mothers at home. We have the whole district, the whole village. They will take care of them. But my kid’s real mother will also be my wife).”

Talking about his love interests, Salman joked that the person who should be calling him jaan (sweetheart) has also started calling him bhai (brother), playing with the title of his recently released film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

Salman is currently seen in the lead role of his recently released Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, alongside Pooja Hegde.
