Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Bachchans used to party hard in clubs, shares DJ Aqeel: ‘Now they are scared to step out’

The celebrity DJ shared that the trend of celebrities visiting clubs has slowly died due to social media as every second person troubles them for pictures.

DJ Aqeel recently recalled the times when celebrities like Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Amitabh Bachchan, among others, would fearlessly enter a club, drink and dance on the floor. He shared that the trend of celebrities visiting clubs has slowly died due to social media as every second person troubles them for pictures.

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Aqeel recalled the times when he used to specifically play at private house parties of several celebrities. Sharing his experience, the DJ said, “The parties used to be at a bungalow, home, or yacht. At home parties, the clients used to be very particular about ‘wire nahi dikhna chahiye.’ For that, we had to come about three hours before the party and set things up. I used to play non-stop for hours.”

He added, “House parties used to be cool. Very wild. I mean there were no lights, camera, just action. They used to have a good time. Masti karte the. If there is no camera at all to capture anything, people would just drink and have fun. Celebrities these days don’t step out. But, earlier, this wasn’t the case. Because social media didn’t exist, they all had great time.”

The celebrity DJ also recalled getting his first commercial gig at the Enigma Club in Mumbai, where actors like Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and the Bachchans were regulars. “I got my first gig at JW Marriot’s Enigma. Until this, I only played at private parties. The club used to have all hotshots: Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham, Dino Morea, you name it, all of them used to be there. Both Senior and Junior Bachchan used to party together. With no camera, they used to have great time.”

However, these parties have now mostly come to an end with the rise of social media. He shared, “Now they are scared to enter a club because every second person wants to take pictures with them. They disturb them. There is no peace of mind. There used to be no stress. They used to come, drink and party. On their songs, they used to do their moves. People used to dance to all hero songs: Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan.”
