Veteran actor Saira Banu, who made her Instagram debut on Dilip Kumar’s second death anniversary, continues to honour the legendary actor’s memory by sharing precious moments from their life together. Today, she delighted fans with an unseen picture of herself and the late actor, accompanied by a heartfelt anecdote.
Saira’s Instagram feed has become a treasure trove for fans seeking untold stories and unseen pictures of the couple. In her latest post, she wrote about Dilip’s active involvement in charity work during his lifetime and how it kept her on her toes. She wrote, “Get set… ready and GO…!! Our lives were full of action… Sahib being the philanthropist and endearing person that he always was for all mankind, we were constantly going out to attend functions and get-togethers for the benefit of the needy such as The National Association for the Blind… the Physically Handicapped… The War Widows etc.”
The actor added that she will soon share details about her shopping trips with Dilip Kumar. “He kept me on my toes and would be ready in a jiffy… I had to keep running to keep pace with him… If I were late I could hear the car horn downstairs screaming away to get me going! Will in future share his forays into shopping with me,” she wrote.
Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar tied the knot on October 11, 1966. Despite their significant age difference—Dilip being 44 and Saira just 22—they found immense love and companionship in each other. They first met at Saira’s 22nd birthday party, and Dilip was instantly captivated by her. Shortly after their meeting, he proposed, and they got married. They lived together until his death on July 7, 2021. He was 98 years old.
