Raveena Tandon says she had ‘classroom fights’ with Salman Khan, didn’t get along with Karisma Kapoor: ‘We were kids’

Raveena Tandon spoke about her relationship with Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor, the two actors whom she did not get along with during her early days.

Raveena Tandon started her career with the 1991 film Patthar Ke Phool and Salman Khan was her first co-star but, back then, Salman and Raveena weren’t the best of friends. In fact, the two of them went through some “classroom fights” during those early days. In a recent chat, Raveena said that while they are “thick friends” now, it wasn’t this way from the beginning.

She shared with ETimes, “Well, Salman and me have bonded today as we have grown older as such thick friends and there’s mutual respect and love for each other. He’s the kind you call when you’re in trouble and he’ll be there for you. He might not be there with you for your happy times but he’ll definitely be there for you in your bad times so he is that kind of a person.”

Raveena then spoke about the time from their younger days and said, “Even though when we were youngsters, probably, we had our little share of you know classroom fights. Literally, it was like classroom politics but then as we grew older, I guess, we learnt to understand each other more and we respect each other for that.”

Raveena also spoke about her relationship with Karisma Kapoor. The two actors had a difficult relationship and weren’t even on talking terms when they shot for Rajkumar Santoshi’s Andaz Apna Apna. “See, you can’t get along with everyone, right? And today, I am glad to say that Karisma and me were children. May be, we went through our slight complexes at that time but today, our children are friends and today, socially also we hang out together. So, I think people grow up,” she said.

In the early 1990s, Karisma was once asked by Stardust about the rumoured differences between her and Raveena, and also Raveena and Salman. Karisma said, “What does Raveena mean by saying Salman and I gang up against her? Salman and I are both busy stars, and we have better things to do in life than ganging up against Raveena. I’m sure Salman will agree with me on that.”
