Ranveer Singh says his character Rocky is not the brightest, Alia Bhatt jokes ‘just like me’

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt jetted off to Gujarat’s Vadodara to promote their upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. While speaking to the media at the promotional event, Ranveer divulged details about his character, calling him “not very bright.” In a quick response, Alia shared how she finds Ranveer’s character in the film relatable.

Talking about his character Rocky Randhawa, Ranveer said, “He is not the brightest egg in the basket.” Alia quickly interrupted Ranveer and playfully quipped, “Bilkul meri tarah (just like me),” making the audience laugh.

The Gully Boy actor continued, “But uska dil saaf hai, uska dil bahut bada hai (He has a clean and a big heart). He wears his heart on his sleeves. That’s what I really love about this character, uspe bahut pyaar aata hai (he is very lovable). He is a mama’s boy, and really loves his family. He loves fiercely and I really enjoyed playing Rocky. Now, when I watch the film, I feel so much love for him.”

Ranveer also said that the trailer shows only superficial things in the film, there is a lot more to it. “Trailer mein sab upar-upar se hai (the trailer shows all superficial things). There is a lot more to be seen in this film.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is directed by Karan Johar. The filmmaker returned to the director’s chair after a gap of seven years for this film. He last directed 2016’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan. It will hit theatres on July 28.
