Hansal Mehta’s directorial Omerta starring Rajkummar Rao has come out and it appears that this actor-director duo has again rustled up something extremely exciting. After releasing a picture of Rajkummar Rao dressed in a suit earlier, this new look reveals a different aspect of his personality.
The actor can be seen offering namaaz in the picture but what grabs our attention is the wall behind him. From the date ‘9/11’ and the to-do task of ‘Kidnapping an American,’ it all points to terrorism being a part of the film.
The Aligarh director took to Twitter to release the look. He wrote, “Produced by Swiss Entertainment & Karma Features, #Omerta has @RajkummarRao playing yet another real life character.” Talking about the journey of Omerta, Hansal wrote, “On location #Omerta. This has been a grueling but gratifying journey. It is a pertinent film about our times.”
As soon as the director posted a picture, speculation started about Omerta’s story line. Someone asked if the film is based on Mario Puzo’s novel with the same name but Hansal denied any resemblance to the novel.
