Actor Mrunal Thakur has found fame in the Telugu film industry after her recent hits like Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna. The actor, who will next be seen in Family Star with Vijay Deverakonda, recently shared that she finds spending money on clothes a complete wastage. She also shared that she has never spent more than Rs 2,000 on a top.
In an interview with Galatta Plus, Mrunal said that she does not spend money on expensive designer clothing because one doesn’t tend to wear them again. “You are not going to wear them again,” Mrunal said. When asked about the clothes she was wearing in the interview, Mrunal said, “These are not my clothes, I have just sourced them. The maximum money I have spent on a top is Rs 2000. That also I feel is too much.”
Elaborating on her statement, the Hi Nanna actor said that, “Because whatever is expensive, you cannot wear them over and over again. Yes, having a classic statement collection in your wardrobe is good but wearing a brand for the heck of it is a waste of money. I would rather invest that money in food, in some plants, house, or a land where I can do farming.”
Mrunal’s public appearances have her dressed in the best of outfits and the actor shared that she “cheats” and makes it work. “So what we do, I cheat. In my wardrobe, if I have 1000 things, out of that five things will be statement things. I will wear a gunjee and jeans and I throw that one statement thing like a shoe or a bag and I will keep repeating it,” she said adding that she maintains a balance between looking chic while not buying any expensive outfits.
She concluded by saying, “You have to be smart and you also cannot end up investing in anything that’s in trend. Trend will just last for six months, one year and this is gone.”
Mrunal’s next film Family Star releases in theatres on April 5.
