Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor is three films old in the Hindi film industry. Since the beginning of her career, Khushi has been subjected to trolling, with many targeting her for coming from a film family. Her performances have also received mixed and negative reviews. In a recent interaction, Khushi spoke about facing public scrutiny but also admitted that it’s important for actors to take constructive criticism for their growth.
Speaking to The Times of India, Khushi shared that she instantly gets a sense of the motive and tone behind every piece of criticism she receives. She shared that she only takes the feedback to heart if she knows it will help her in her career. She told ETimes, “I think it’s important to take constructive criticism. And if something’s not really helping you, I don’t think there’s any point listening to it.”
Khushi Kapoor also explained that having acted in three films has given her a bit of confidence in airing her views. She shared that she always had a love for acting growing up, as she saw her parents on film sets. But now, as she forges her own path in the film industry, her fondness for acting has only grown. “The comfort definitely grows and you become surer of the choices you’re making.”
Talking about feeling confident in sharing her opinion, she said, “I feel I have more of a voice now because I’ve done three films. I can express my ideas and thoughts a bit more.” Khushi shared that at the beginning of her career, she was ‘quiet’ and would just listen to people around. “Now I feel like I can tell that it’s a more collaborative process because I feel like I can express my thoughts,” she said.
Khushi Kapoor made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. The film also marked the debut of other star kids like Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda. The Archies released on Netflix but received mixed reviews from critics.
Khushi then starred in Loveyapa, alongside Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan. The film was also a flop and was panned by critics and audiences alike. Khushi’s third film was the recent Nadaaniyan, which marked the debut of Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan. This film, too, met the same fate and was brutally trolled by the audience.
