Filmmaker Karan Johar has bought the rights to make a biopic on hockey legend Dhyan Chand. The producer-director took to Twitter to announce that he has the rights to depict the story of the greatest hockey star Dhyan Chand.

While Karan Johar did not disclose anymore details of the film, reports earlier said that superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who has earlier played hockey coach in ‘Chak De!’, is likely to play the lead role in Dhyan Chand biopic. However, official announcement on the casting is still to be made.
Dhyan Chand was a three-time Olympic gold medal winner and was widely popular as ‘The Wizard’ due to his control on the ball.
This is not the first sports biopic to be announced this year. Recently, a film on Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was also announced. ‘Kai Po Che’ actor Sushant Singh Rajput will be playing Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the biopic called ‘M.S. Dhoni’.
