The comedy-caper Fukrey 3 has been having a good run at the box office since its release on September 28. The film arrived along with Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War, which has had a disappointing run so far. However, on its sixth day (Tuesday), even the Richa Chadha-Varun Sharma-starrer witnessed a significant dip in its collections, after a solid debut.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Fukrey 3 added only Rs 4.75 crore to its total collection on Tuesday. Now, the film’s total earnings in India stands at Rs 59.92 crore. This is the lowest single-day haul for the film so far. On its first Monday, the film hit a double-digit score, as it collected Rs 11.69 crore. The going hasn’t been easy for Fukrey 3 as it is competing against Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster Jawan, which is showing no signs of slowing down even in its fourth week. The Atlee directorial has netted a total of Rs 614 crore in India, and is also making waves globally.

Meanwhile, The Vaccine War, which is supposedly India’s first ‘bio-science’ film, continued delivering low totals. The film presents the story of the scientists who developed India’s Covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin, during the pandemic

On its sixth day, the Nana Patekar-starrer could only earn Rs 65 lakh, bringing the total earnings of the film to Rs 7.80 crore. As per Agnihotri, the film is struggling at the box office because of smear campaigns running against it. In a recent interview with Gallata Plus, the filmmaker said, “After I delivered a Rs 350-crore movie (The Kashmir Files) which also created a significant impact, nobody has reviewed it (The Vaccine War) because money is being paid and there’s an embargo that nobody should utter our names.”

Now, with Akshay Kumar’s Mission Raniganj and Bhumi Pednekar’s Thank You For Coming releasing in the theatres this week, it will be interesting to see how box office dynamics will change.
