Salman Khan and his family have been in the news for the recent gun-firing incident outside his Bandra apartment where the actor lives with his parents, Salim Khan and Salma Khan. On April 14, at around 5 am, two unidentified men on a motorbike fired four-five rounds outside his residence in Mumbai’s Galaxy Apartments. Thankfully, there were no injuries, but the incident has left Salman Khan’s family shaken. Aayush Sharma, Salman’s brother-in-law, who is married to his sister, Arpita Sharma, spoke to ANI about the ordeal. “We are his family,” said Aayush.
He added, “It is a tough time for us. And we all as a family stand together.” He expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers from fans but avoided further comment citing the seriousness of the ongoing investigation. “I believe that at this point of time, it will not be appropriate for me to give any statement or comment because it is a grave situation. A competent Mumbai Police has done a great job in doing what they’re doing, and the matter is still under investigation. So, at this stage, I would just say thank you, to everybody who has sent their love and prayers, that means a lot. And as you all know he’s (Salman Khan) back to work so am I.”
Mumbai Police are currently investigating the incident and have identified potential links to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol Bishnoi, the gangster’s brother, reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack on Facebook.
The incident has also sparked controversy, with news reports claiming that Salim Khan called it a “publicity stunt”. However, Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan firmly denied these allegations in a social media post. He called the incident “unnerving” and criticised those making light of the situation. “Our family has been taken aback by this shocking incident that took place. Unfortunately, some people claiming to be close to our family and pretending to be the spokesperson have been making loose statements to the media saying it’s all a publicity stunt and the family remains unaffected which is not true and these views should not be taken seriously,” the statement read.
The investigation into the firing incident is ongoing, with the two accused currently in police custody.
