Filmy Friday: ‘Finding Fanny’ and ‘Creature 3D’ hit the screens today

Deepika Padukone's 'Finding Fanny' and Bipasha Basu's 'Creature 3D' release this weekend.

The movie buffs are in for a treat this weekend as the quirky tale of finding love – Finding Fanny – is set to hit the screens. The movie stars Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor in the lead. It also has stalwarts like Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia adorning the frame.

Touted as offbeat, ‘Finding Fanny’ is based on a road trip set in Goa and follows the journey of five odd-ball friends who set out on a road trip in search of Fanny (Stefanie Fernandes), the love-interest of the character played by Naseeruddin Shah. The movie is directed and written by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and presented by Fox Star Studios.

With names like these and a plot like this, ‘Finding Fanny’ doesn’t give the viewers any reasons to miss out on it. The initial reviews have started pouring in and if one goes by it, this movie seems to be a must watch!

The second Bollywood release this weekend is Bipasha Basu’s Creature 3D. The 3D monster thriller science fiction is directed by Vikram Bhatt. It also marks the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actor Imran Abbas Naqvi. In a recent interview, Bipasha quipped, “It’s the first of its own kind in this country and its made like a Hollywood flick.”

Creature 3D is expected to start off well at single screens.

Hollywood movie Prince also sees its release in India today. The Prince is an American gangster thriller movie directed by Brian A Miller. It stars Jason Patric, Bruce Willis, John Cusack and Rain.
