Ekta Kapoor: I feel immensely blessed to become a parent

Ekta Kapoor became a mother to son Ravie Kapoor through surrogacy on January 27. In a statement she has thanked her doctor and called it her biggest achievement.

Television czarina Ekta Kapoor welcomed a baby boy on January 27 through surrogacy. She has named him Ravie Kapoor after father Jeetendra’s real name, Ravi Kapoor.

Ekta shared her joy in a statement on Thursday. She said, “By God’s grace, I have seen many successes in my life, but nothing beats the feeling of this beautiful soul being added to my world. I cannot even begin to express how happy my baby’s birth has made me. Everything in life doesn’t go the way you want it to, but there are always solutions to those hiccups. I found mine and today I feel immensely blessed to become a parent. It is an emotional moment and I can’t wait to begin this new journey of being a mother.”

Ekta Kapoor’s doctor Nandita Palshetkar shared, “Ekta came to me some years back to become a mother. We tried to help her get pregnant with multiple cycles of IUI and also multiple cycles of IVF. But we were unsuccessful. Hence, we had to take help of the technique of surrogacy which we performed nine months back at our Bloom IVF centre. Nine months later, she had achieved success with the birth of a child on Sunday.”

A source revealed, “Ekta was keenly involved in the entire process. She would take constant updates about the mother and baby’s health at every stage from the doctor. It was her pure determination to become a mother that made this happen.”

A few years back, Ekta’s brother Tusshar Kapoor also took the surrogacy route. He became a father to son Laksshya in 2016.

Tusshar shared his happiness and said in a statement, “I’m excited to announce the arrival of my nephew, a baby boy named Ravie Kapoor, born last week through IVF and surrogacy. Ekta has been like a mother to my son Laksshya! This marks the beginning of a new phase in her life, an exciting time of completeness and fulfillment! God bless Ravie with a life of peace, happiness & good health and my sincere thank you to all of you for the support & for showering our family with so much affection!”

Nimrat Kaur and Ankita Lokhande congratulated Ekta on Twitter. Nimrat, who starred in Ekta’s web series The Test Case also tweeted, “Huge congratulations @ektaravikapoor on this brand new chapter in your life…wishing you all the love and the most amazing adventures ever !! ♥️🤗😘”

Ankita, who recently made her Bollywood debut in Manikarnika, had played the lead in Ekta’s TV soap opera Pavitra Rishta. She wrote, “Congratulations ma’am ❤️and wish all the love for your new journey🍼😁

Filmmakers Hansal Mehta and Sanjay Gupta also tweeted their congratulatory messages for Ekta. While Mehta tweeted, “Many congratulations and lots of love dearest @ektaravikapoor. Welcome to parenthood and joy…” Gupta wrote, “And this is the most heartening news this morning. Many congratulations Ekta. Welcome to the world and joy of parenting. God bless your baby with good health and lots of masti. 🤗🤗🤗”
