Dharmendra Health Latest Update: Veteran actor Dharmendra is stable and recovering, said sources close to his family on Tuesday evening. The actor has been at Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital since October 31. As per the latest update from his family, the Sholay actor is recovering and responding to treatment. Since Monday night, fake news about the actor has been circulating on social media. However, Dharmendra’s daughter Esha Deol and wife Hema Malini quashed all the reports, and said that the actor is stable and under observation. Dharmendra’s family also requested the media to respect their privacy and pray for the actor’s speedy recovery. Police presence was increased at Breach Candy hospital where he is admitted and at his Juhu residence as his fans collected at both the places.
The Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani actor was hospitalized on October 31. According to a few media reports, he was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital after he complained about feeling breathless. However, later, Dharmendra’s team confirmed that the actor was taken to the hospital just for a routine check-up. On Monday, late afternoon, several reports started circulating about how Dharmendra was in a critical condition and was put on a ventilator. While his family continued to maintain that the actor was doing fine, on Monday late at night, several reports about him started circulating. While his family denied the news, on Tuesday morning, once again, false rumors about the legendary actor’s demise surfaced, after which his family had to issue a strong statement. As per the latest updates, Dharmendra is recovering and responding to treatment; his children, Sunny, Bobby, and daughter Esha, also visited the actor on Tuesday afternoon. On Tuesday evening, sources close to Sunny Deol said that Dharmendra was doing better than he was on Monday. Actor Aamir Khan, his girlfriend Gauri Spratt and Esha’s ex-husband Bharat Takhtani were also seen visiting the hospital to check on the veteran actor.
Amidst all the reports circulating about the veteran actor’s deteriorating health, no official statement has been released from the Breach Candy hospital or the doctors who have been treating Dharmendra. In their latest update, the actor’s family shared, “Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don’t indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”
Dhurandhar trailer launch has been postponed keeping Dharmendra’s health in mind. The film’s team wrote, “As a mark of respect to the victims and families of yesterday’s Delhi blasts as well as to be sensitive to the delicate situation concerning the health of our beloved Shri Dharmendra ji, the Dhurandhar trailer launch scheduled for tomorrow stands postponed. The revised date and details for the trailer launch will be shared soon. Thank you for your understanding.”
After the news about the actor’s demise went viral on social media, Dharmendra’s daughter Esha Deol posted on Instagram, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request that everyone give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for Papa’s speedy recovery.” Hema Malini also condemned the irresponsible reporting by the media and wrote on X, “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”
Going by the media reports, actress Nimrat Kaur had also posted a condolence for the actor on social media, but she later deleted the tweet. Javed Akhtar also withdrew his post from social media. Slamming the media, actress Bhagyashree also wrote on Instagram, “Oh my God! How horrible for fake news to be spread like this about a person so revered! I am so sorry for sharing my condolence post for Dharamji… It’s simply what I heard on the news. I apologize. May God bless him with a speedy recovery.”
Actor Divya Dutta also shared best wishes for Dharmendra. “T spirit of mumbai.the buzzing city. Traffic jam, n rushing vehicles one side and the closed road on the other side?? youngsters playing badminton..a mother embracing her son..And me?? A bit overwhelmed with my thoughts..@aapkadharam song playing on radio..he and i are from the same town in punjab..sahnewal.a bond his movies and he created..he s woven in our lives..our childhood (sic). the HeMan.get well soon Dharamji.you are precious,” she wrote on X.
Actors Salman Khan, Govinda, Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, and Ameesha Patel also visited the veteran actor at Breach Candy Hospital.
Amazon Music cancelled the album launch event of Tere Ishk Mein, which was supposed to take place on Tuesday in Mumbai. “In light of the concerning health condition of the legendary Dharmendra ji, we have decided to cancel today’s event,” their statement read.
Dharmendra was last on screen in the film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. On Dussehra, the actor had shared a video with a few fans on his Instagram. On 29th October, Dharamendra also shared the trailer of his upcoming film Ikkis, which also stars Agastya Nanda. In September, the actor also treated his followers by reciting a sweet poem on social media.
Actor Dharmendra has usually been very fit; in fact, he has always been referred to as the He-Man of Bollywood. However, over the last few years, Dharamendra has been facing some age-related health issues. According to several media reports, the Seeta Aur Geeta actor has been hospitalized occasionally for several reasons. Earlier this year, Dharmendra also had a corneal transplant surgery. 11 days back, he was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital for a routine check-up after he complained of breathing difficulties.
On 8th December, Dharmendra will be turning 90; he will also be seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, which is slated to release on 25th December.
