Dharmendra Health Latest Updates: After hospital video, Saif Ali Khan demands ‘law against such brutal violation of privacy’

"We experienced a situation like this when Abba (father cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan) was in the hospital. We were constantly fobbing off unwanted attention while dealing with the crisis at hand. There should definitely be laws against such brutal violation of privacy," Saif Ali Khan shared with News 24 Online.

Adnan Sami told News 24 Online, "The hospital should be sued for this and made an example out of for all hospitals to take cognisance of the fact that serious consequences would occur if such a disgusting, unprofessional and unethical act ever takes place again!!! What happened to patient-doctor confidentiality?"

Hansal Mehta called out the gross invasion of privacy of the Deol family and told News 24 Online, "This is what the era of social-media exposure has done to us. It has killed our conscience and turned us into vultures. What this fellow has done is disgusting. He should be prosecuted."

Director Rohit Shetty, who will be seen on this weekend's special episode of Bigg Boss 19, asked the paparazzi during the shoot if they were still stationed outside Dharmendra's house. Former cricketer Pragyan Ojha took to X to comment on a video showing Dharmendra in the ICU. He wrote, "Deeply disappointed to see a very sensitive video of a legendary actor being circulated. Some moments are personal and deserve to remain private. In times like these, the least we can do is show empathy and respect. A humble request, please don’t engage or amplify it."

In her latest vlog, Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja shared a special memory with Dharmendra. Sunita said, “Oh my god! Woh toh mere jaan hain, Dharam ji. Unke saath meine show kiya tha, hum dono ne dance bhi kiya tha. Mere childhood crush hain! Aur mujhe itne pasand hain. An old video of Salman Khan and actor Dharmendra is going viral on social media. The clip is from Bigg Boss stage. Dharmendra and Bobby Deol can be seen joining Salman Khan on stage. The clip shows Dharmendra saying, "Waise main toh kahunga, yeh mera beta hai. Mere teen bete hain — teeno jazbaati hain, khuddar hain, transparent hain. (Well, I would say he’s my son. I have three sons — all three are emotional, self-respecting, and transparent)."

Veteran actor Kamini Kaushal died at the age of 98 on Friday. Dharmendra had fondly written about Kamini a few years back as her film, Shaheed, was the first one he ever watched. Dharmendra, born as Dharmendra Kewal Krishna Deol in Nasrali, Ludhiana, was just a village boy when he first watched the 1948 film Shaheed, starring Dilip Kumar, Kamini Kaushal, and Leela Chitnis.“Mai Dilip Kumar banna chahta hu (I want to become Dilip Kumar)," he had said in an interview with Asian paints. “When I saw Dilip Kumar, and other actors, I was like where are these beauties from? Pragya Ojha is a part of the Ajit Agarkar-led BCCI selection panel, and he urged the fans not to engage or amplify the situation related to legendary actor Dharmendra.

Just a few days earlier, Amitabh Bachchan was seen driving his BMW outside actor Dharmendra’s residence in Juhu and the clip quickly got viral.

After a series of cryptic posts, Amitabh Bachchan shared another via X on Friday morning which read, "T 5564 - no ethics .. कोई भी अचार-नीति नहीं." His comments came amid the Deol family's privacy being breached at a difficult and emotional time as Dharmendra is ailing.

Renowned jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali on Thursday criticised the media for its insensitive reporting on veteran actor Dharmendra's health. In an Instagram note, she also talked about how several people questioned her mother Zarine Khan's cremation and wrote, "My mother passed away 6 days ago and there were some here who were more interested in why she chose to be cremated instead of giving condolences. Dharm Uncle is in hospital and a video of his personal family goes viral." She added, "Are we as a nation so insensitive to people. Don't public figures also have families that have feelings? What happened to humanity? Why does every Imbecile out here have an opinion on how others should lead their lives. Tragedy strikes all. When it's your turn and trust me it will be, there will be others like you hurting you like you hurt us."

IFTDA president Ashoke Pandit has filed a police complaint against the paparazzi for breaching Deol family's privacy. "I wish to lodge a formal complaint against certain unverified and scrupulous paparazzi and online media handlers who have crossed all limits of decency and ethics in the recent coverage related to the illness of Padma Bhushan, Shri Dharmendra Ji, one of the most respected legends of Indian cinema,” Pandit's complaint said.

Indian Film & Television Directors' Association president Ashoke Pandit has issued a statement on the ‘intrusive’ reporting of veteran actor Dharmendra health. The note read, “IFTDA strongly condemns the disgraceful and unethical conduct of certain paparazzi in their intrusive reporting of Shri Dharmendra Ji’s health. Their reckless behavior, is unacceptable and inhuman. A formal police complaint has been filed, and we demand strict action to ensure such indecency is never repeated.”

According to HT, the Breach Candy hospital employee who secretly filmed Dharmendra and the Deol family inside Breach Candy Hospital’s ICU has been identified and is being investigated .

Malayalam actor Babu Antony, who shared screen space with Dharmendra in Mafia, took to Instagram to share a photo from the sets of the 1996 Hindi film. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit on Wednesday strongly condemned the circulation of false reports regarding the demise of veteran actor Dharmendra, amid ongoing health concerns. Speaking to ANI, Pandit, who is the President of the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), urged the media agencies on behalf of the organisation to stop spreading demise reports of the actors without any "strong evidence."

"I want to appeal on behalf of IFTDA, all the people of our industry, media houses, that please, until there is no strong evidence or a reaction of the family, or of any friend, or of any authority, till then, please make a resolution and stop spreading this fake news. Because this is a very bad thing for society, it is a very bad thing for our industry," said Ashoke Pandit.

Ashoke Pandit also extended his best wishes to the actor, praying for his long life and good health and told ANI, "On behalf of the industry, we wish Mr Dharam a long life, and we pray to God that his health remains good, and keep entertaining us in this way."

After getting discharged from the hospital, Govinda spoke to the media and prayed to God for Dharmendra's good health. Dharmendra's daughter and actor Esha Deol's ex-husband, businessman Bharat Takhtani, was also spotted arriving at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday, November 11, to check on veteran actor Dharmendra's health. His visit came shortly after Abhay Deol and other members of the Deol family were seen at the hospital.
