Devara box office collection day 5: Jr NTR’s latest spectacle has shown some growth in its collections after a worrying drop on Monday. With the national holiday of Gandhi Jayanti on Wednesday, collections on Tuesday evening witnessed an uptick in all languages, mainly Hindi. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Devara Part 1 netted Rs 13.5 cr on Tuesday, performing better than its first Monday–after a massive dip–when it had netted Rs 12.75 cr. With Wednesday being a national holiday, the evening and night shows of Devara saw a spike in collections, setting the stage for even greater growth on Wednesday.
The total all-India nett collection of the film now stands at Rs 186 cr, while the worldwide gross is nearly Rs 340 cr. The original Telugu version of the film remained steady as it grossed Rs 8 cr, while the dubbed Hindi version saw a boost, grossing over Rs 5 cr. Devara Part 1’s Hindi version has been putting a solid total, with consistent box office numbers since day one. A similar trend was observed with Kali 2898 AD, whose Hindi version had better legs than its original Telugu version.
Despite mixed reception, Devara Part 1 has seemed to found acceptance, especially in mass pockets. From here on out, the film will expect to trend decently through the week and then record a spike in its second weekend, which will see no major box office release standing in its way.
The film, also starring Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in their Telugu debuts, will then have an entire week to itself before it faces two Hindi films at the box office– Alia Bhatt-led jailbreak actioner Jigra, and Rajkummar Rao-Triptii Dimri-starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
