Debutante Bhumi Pednekar is being launched by director Sharat kataria in his movie ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha‘ opposite actor Ayushmann Khurrana. Bollywood is nothing new to the actress, as she has been working in the casting department at YRF for over six years. She has been instrumental in casting a lot of actors.
Along with participating in the auditions and bagging the female protagonist of the movie, Bhumi also auditioned a lot of girls for the same role which went on for a long time. Over 100 girls were auditioned for this role.

Later it was Bhumi who fit the bill and Kataria finalised her. Kataria said, “I wanted someone who will look the part and not just be a pretty face. Bhumi was Shanoo Sharma’s assistant. Seema Pahwa, who plays her mother’s role, mentored her.
“Bhumi travelled with us to Haridwar and took to wearing sarees and jewellery like local women. She was plump when she came on board but she went onto gain 10 to 15 kgs more for the part,” he said.
‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ is all set to hit the screens tomorrow.
