De De Pyaar De 2 Box Office collection day 2: Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh’s De De Pyaar De 2 is on a roll at the box office. After opening at Rs 8.75 crore, the film recorded a strong 40% jump in collections on Saturday, earning Rs 12.25 crore. With this, the total collection of romantic comedy stands at Rs 21 crore.
De De Pyaar De 2, a romantic comedy directed by Anshul Sharma and written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, is the sequel to the 2019 hit De De Pyaar De. The film brings back Ajay Devgn as Ashish Mehra, a 52-year-old London-based investor, and Rakul Preet Singh as Ayesha Khurana, his much younger girlfriend. R Madhavan plays Ayesha’s father, Rajji, who finds himself at odds with Ashish. The cast also includes Jaaved Jaaferi, Meezaan Jafri, Gautami Kapoor, and Ishita Dutta.
The sequel to De De Pyaar De hit screens on Friday to mixed reviews. The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave the film 2.5 stars and wrote in her review, “R Madhavan’s loving-dad-who-will-do-anything-to-protect-his-daughter is the real star of part 2, just like Shaitaan, the last film Ajay Devgn and Madhavan had done together. I had really enjoyed the first one for its novelty factor, as well as the perkiness of Rakul Preeti Singh, who balanced the dour niceness of Ajay Devgn: the presence of Tabu, who plays Devgn’s older love, added to the film, as it always does. In this one, Rakul is as animated, but Devgn appears almost subdued, with Jaaved Jafferi returning as his pal-and-therapist providing tips to navigate the tricky terrain the former has landed in — what do you call your ‘hone-wali-saas’ who is most likely younger than you ? Mummyji, behenji, yaaaa by her name?”
Post its theatrical run, De De Pyaar De 2 is expected to arrive on Netflix in January 2026.
