Crew didn’t disappoint on its fourth day of release at the box office. After a solid opening weekend, the Tabu, Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon-starrer comedy-heist film faced the crucial Monday test and established that it has found acceptance which will help it sail through the coming weeks. According to the makers, Crew netted Rs 4.52 crore on day four.
The film is holding well even internationally. Till the weekend, Crew had clocked $2.8 million (Rs 23 crore) taking its worldwide opening weekend gross to Rs 62 cr. With Monday collections, the total collection stands at Rs 70.73 crore.
As these current trends indicate, Crew is expected to put up a strong first week at the box office and end it with a stronger second weekend, as no new releases are set for the coming Friday. The two other films that are doing well at the box office are Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Aadujeevitham. Crew will have an open run till the two big Eid releases — Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan.
As of now, Crew is likely to end its lifetime run in the range of Rs 70-80 cr. According to a Pinkvilla report, the film is mounted on a budget of Rs 75 crore, with an additional Rs 15 cr spent on publicity and advertisement, taking the total cost to Rs 90 crore.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, Crew is directed by Rajesh Krishnan and also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in special roles.
