Chhaava box office collection Day 11: After reviving Bollywood’s box office fortunes and delivering its first blockbuster in months, director Laxman Utekar’s historical actioner Chhaava is continuing its phenomenal theatrical run. The film’s remarkable second Monday performance has pushed its worldwide earnings close to the Rs 450 crore mark. Chhaava has not only become the highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2025 but also the year’s biggest Indian hit overall, giving an ailing Bollywood a much-needed shot in the arm.

On Monday, which marked its 11th day in theatres, Chhaava added Rs 18.22 crore to its domestic total, which now stands at Rs 344.97 crore, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. However, this figure reflects a 54.45 per cent drop from its Sunday collections of Rs 40 crore, with the film raking in Rs 84 crore over its second weekend alone. Mounted on a reported budget of Rs 130 crore, as per Koimoi, Chhaava’s worldwide gross has now reached Rs 444.5 crore. For context, director Anil Ravipudi’s action-comedy Sankranthiki Vasthunam, starring Venkatesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rajesh, currently holds the second spot among 2025’s highest-grossing Indian films with a global collection of Rs 251.95 crore, further underscoring Chhaava’s box office dominance.

During the day, Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, maintained an overall occupancy rate of 23.64 per cent in the Hindi market. While the morning shows started with 13.37 per cent occupancy, the rate kept improving as the day progressed, rising to 21.51 per cent in the afternoon, 25.78 per cent in the evening and peaking at 33.88 per cent during night screenings. While this marks Rashmika’s fourth consecutive theatrical blockbuster — following Varisu (2023), Animal (2023) and Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) — Chhaava’s success has been especially significant for Vicky, who had been navigating a rough patch in his career.

In her review of the movie, SCREEN’s Shubhra Gupta gave Chhaava 2.5 stars out of 5. “The torture porn in the climax of Vicky Kaushal’s film reminds you of the systematic flaying of Jesus in ‘The Passion of Christ’,” she wrote.
