Everyone in the Indian television and film industry was taken aback when they heard about veteran actor Satish Shah’s passing. Tributes have been pouring in ever since then, and his close friends and co-stars have been very vocal about the kind of impact he had on their lives. Recently filmmaker Ashoke Pandit posted some pictures and videos with Satish’s wife, Madhu Shah, and actor Anupam Kher.
In a heartwarming video, Kher can be seen singing tunes with Madhu, who is currently battling Alzheimer’s disease. Even though it takes Madhu a few moments to gather the lyrics of the song that Kher is singing, she can be seen thanking him with folded hands for the performance. The caption of the video reads, “What a moment of hope and positivity while remembering our dear friend Satish Shah at his home with Madhu, when Anupam Kher and I spent some time with her singing, along with her sister, Arvind ji, and Ramesh ji.”

Pandit also wrote, “Keep sending positive energies and blessings to Madhu so that she gets back to her original form with her vibrant smiles and laughter. Positive thoughts can do miracles.” The filmmaker also posted a long, heartfelt message for Madhu, where he recalled his connection with Madhu’s father and how he refuses to accept that she isn’t doing well health-wise.
He wrote, “Have known you for over 40 years. You have been a person who always believed in goodness and sharing love & affection towards people around you. Being the daughter of the respected ace photographer R.R. Prabhu, who whenever I met him, blessed me with his artistic smile and graceful gesture. I refuse to accept that you are not well. For me, you are the same lovable & affectionate person. Satish owed his success to you, which he always used to mention.”
Interestingly, it was Ashoke who first announced Satish’s demise on social media through a post in which he cited kidney failure as the reason. But it was later clarified by multiple sources, that Satish passed away due to a cardiac arrest.
Actor Ratna Pathak Shah also wrote an obituary for Satish, where she mentioned Madhu and how she was in disbelief during his funeral. She wrote, “‘Is this really happening?’ she asked me, her eyes stunned, her hands stiff. As he was led away, we gathered around her and tried to make sense of the events. He wanted to live for her, to see her through her troubled times. ‘She’s done that for me for many years; now it’s my turn,’ he said. When he sang, which he did beautifully and often, she was always alongside, tuneful, cheery and the picture of grace and beauty. Now, who will sing to her and with her?”
