Actor-brothers Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti Khurrana‘s father, astrologer and numerologist P Khurana, passed away on Friday morning in Mohali, Chandigarh from a prolonged illness.
A statement from Aparshakti Khurana’s spokesperson read, “It’s with our deep sadness to inform that Ayushmann and Aparshakti Khurana’s father, Astrologer P Khurana passed away this morning at 10:30am in Mohali, owing to a prolonged incurable ailment. We are indebted for all your prayers and support during this time of personal loss”.
Both Ayushmann and Aparshakti often posted pictures with their father, thanking him for the love and guidance. Ayushmann had also credited him with helping him achieve his dreams.
The actor had said that while he doesn’t believe in astrology, his father was his ‘life coach and mentor’. “He always used to tell me ‘beta public ki nabz pakdo’ (Catch people’s pulse) and I just did that,” Ayushmann had told Hindustan Times in an interview, “I remember, straight out of college, my father was the one who pushed me. I was very laidback, but he was very ambitious for me. He packed my bags and booked my tickets. I was thrown out, and he said, ‘Jao actor banne jao, bahut ho gaya. Chandigarh main dera dalke baitha hai’ (Go and become an actor. Why have you made Chandigarh your base).”
