Ajay Devgn and Tabu have shared screen space in several films together including Vijaypath, Haqeeqat, Thakshak, Fitoor, Drishyam, Golmaal Again, De De Pyaar De, Drishyam 2 and Bholaa. So naturally, when the duo announced that they were reuniting for the musical love story, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, fans were excited. After teasing the audience with poster, teasers and stills from the much-awaited film, the makers finally launched the trailer at a Mumbai event on Thursday where the film’s cast and composer MM Keeravani were also present. The film’s gripping trailer also dropped on NH Studios’ the social media handles and YouTube channel. “#AuronMeinKahanDumTha #JimmyShergill #SaieeManjrekar Epic. Intense. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha trailer begins with a young couple talking to each other with the girl asking, “Agar humein kisi ne alag kar diya toh?” Reassuring her, boy quips, “Maine check kiya koi aisa paida nahin hua abhi tak.” The love story in Auron Mein Kahan Dum spans across 22 years, set between 2000 and 2023. The film, which also features Jimmy Shergill, Saiee Manjrekar and Shantanu Maheshwari, will be a multi-language release.

The trailer features prisoner Krishna (Ajay), who has allegedly murdered two people in his youth, and is about to complete his 22-year-long jail term. However, he doesn’t want to be freed as he isn’t ready to face the world. Tabu, who was in love with Ajay in her youth, but is now married to Jimmy’s character, eagerly awaits his return. Flashbacks, which are recurrent in the trailer, show Shantanu and Saiee playing young Ajay and Tabu who were torn apart due to the former’s imprisonment. Upon completing his jail-term, Krishna, still in love, meets Tabu but not without her husband who wants to know if he committed the crime or was framed by someone. This leaves the audience guessing what happened on that ‘fateful night.’

The trailer has a ’90s nostalgia with Ajay’s shayari taking one back to the era of Diljale and Diwale. The original soundtrack for the film has been composed by the renowned and celebrated music director MM Kreemani and in the trailer, features two songs, one of which is sung by Jubin Nautiyal.

Last month, Ajay, who will be seen romancing Tabu once again, shared the teaser of the film, where the on-screen couple is seen celebrating Holi together. They play with colours and hug each other. The teaser also gives one of the prison uniform-clad Ajay performing action scenes in the rain outside the jail. “Dushman the hum hi apne…. #AuronMeinKahanDumTha #AMKDT Teaser out now. Presented by NH Studios and A Friday Filmworks Production and produced by Shital Bhatia, Narendra Hirawat and Kumar Mangat Pathak (Panorama Studios), Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is all set to release on July 5. The film has been directed by Neeraj Pandey, who has helmed successful and critically-acclaimed films like MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, A Wednesday, Special 26 and more.
