The latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show featured leading Indian entrepreneurs, BoAt’s Aman Gupta, MamaEarth’s Ghazal Alagh, OYO’s Ritesh Agarwal, and Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma, as special guests. During the episode, BoAt’s Aman credited Archana Puran Singh, specifically her laughter, for contributing to his billion-dollar company’s success, prompting her to jokingly ask for a share in the profits. Aman also opened up about the highs and lows of entrepreneurship.
When Kapil Sharma asked Aman Gupta about the idea behind his noise cancellation range of headphones, he replied that the credit goes to Archana’s laughter. Aman said, “The real reason behind the company’s success is Archana ji. Archana ji, thankyou. Aapki laughter ko humne R&D factory mein diya hua hai, noise cancellation check karne ke liye. All the headphones are top-notch!”
Archana instantly asked Aman, “So, where’s my equity now?” Kapil interrupted and said, “Equity nahi, do headphones leke aaye hain, ek aapke liye, ek Parmeet sir ke liye (No equity, he has got two headphones for both of you).”
Aman Gupta also spoke about his personal journey, and how people treated him differently during failures and successes. “I had a relative who absolutely disregarded me when my first few initiatives failed. Woh bhao bhi nhi dete the; baat bhi nahi karte the. But as soon as I achieved success in my business, they turned around and said, ‘Come here, my beta,'” he revealed.
