Many know about Archana Puran Singh’s journey in the film industry, but only a few are aware of her childhood. Recently, Archana discussed her early years with her son Aaryamann Sethi in his vlog and revealed that she was born and brought up in Dehradun. She also shared that she had a comfortable childhood as her father was a leading criminal lawyer, who even defended Sanjay Gandhi.
Sharing details about her childhood, Archana said, “We lived in a bungalow and my dad had a Chevrolet Impala, he had all the fancy cars at that time.” Aaryamann quipped, “Bungalow and fancy cars, you were well off.”
She added, “He was professional and only knew his work. He had defended big criminals of his time but he didn’t want any of his kids to become lawyers because he felt that you have to sell your soul.” Archana also shared that her father would often get offered bribes. She said, “I once saw that someone had brought a sack full of money for him. My father told him to get out with that sack of money. He had integrity and he taught me that.”
During the same conversation, Archana also spoke about how she came to Mumbai alone as an 20-year-old to become an actor and with no connections in the film industry. She recalled getting her first ad and how she slowly found her footing in Bollywood.
On the work front, Archana is seen as a permanent member on The Great Indian Kapil Show. She was also seen in Ibrahim Ali Khan’s debut film Nadaaniyan. Apart from her acting career, she runs her own YouTube channel, which is quite popular among audiences, where she shares her day-to-day life through vlogs.
