Music maestro AR Rahman took to his social media to congratulate actor and filmmaker R Madhavan as his film Rocketry: The Nanbi Effect won the National Award in the Best Feature Film category. Rahman, in his tweet, also confessed that he enjoyed watching Madhavan’s directorial over Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Rahman wrote, “Congrats Madhavan 🚀….I still remember the impact of your movie watching at Cannes ….have to confess now (great timing🥸)… I liked yours better than #Oppenheimer.”

Responding to Rahman’s message, Madhavan wrote, “Oh my God sir you’re always been one of the greatest inspiration for me but today I am speechless and most importantly motivated way beyond what I thought I was capable of. You are incredible sir in every sense of the word and we at Team Rocketry cannot begin to tell you what this means to us. God bless you sir and totally humbled and touched ❤️❤️🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗.”

Rahman and Madhavan have worked together in several films and the actor featured in many of Rahman’s popular numbers. Some of the films they worked together on are Kannathil Muthamittal (2002), Aaytha Ezhuthu (2004), Rang De Basanti (2006) and Guru (2007).

Madhavan’s Rocketry The Nambi Effect released in July 2022. The film is a biographical drama based on the life of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was arrested in an espionage case in 1994. Madhavan directed, produced and acted in the film.
