On Wednesday, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD organised a grand pre-release event in Mumbai, which was attended by the entire star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. The cast answered a few questions posed to them by Rana Daggubati, who played host at the event. Prabhas shared his experience of working with the legends like Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, who he grew up watching. During his conversation, Prabhas recalled an incident where he wanted to touch Amitabh Bachchan’s feet but the actor refused.
Talking about Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, Prabhas said, “First I want to thank the producers”, while Prabhas was still finishing his sentence, Bachchan interrupted and said, “We touch each other’s feet.” As the crowd laughed, Bachchan continued, “He never allows me to do that. Prabhas, be honest now.” Rana dived in the conversation and tried to save Prabhas and. He said, “Sir, he is my friend. He is all powerful in movies, but he is extremely introvert and sweet.” To this, Amitabh Bachchan said, “But what’s wrong in touching his feet?”
Prabhas continued, “I should thank Dutta Garu and Nagi Garu for giving me an opportunity to work with such greatest legends. It’s like bigger than dream. And I don’t know what to say. I met Amitabh Bachchan for the first time and I touched his feet, he was like, ‘Don’t do it, if you will do it, I will do it’, I was like sir, I can’t even think. I grew up watching you, my uncle had your hairstyle. He was first actor in the country, who reached every part in the country. South, North, Telugu, Tamil, we saw like Amitabh Bachchan hairstyle. We called every tall person Amitabh Bachchan. In South, he is the first actor who achieved that feat.”
He added, “And Kamal sir, when his film Saagar came, I asked my mother, I want his dress. My cousins and I we used to put clothes in our tummy and try to enact him and today getting to work with them, this is like something unbelievable.
