Amitabh Bachchan calls angioplasty reports ‘fake news’, pens note about getting mobbed amid ‘compromised’ security outside stadium

Amitabh Bachchan took to his social media handles and elaborated on his experience of getting stuck at the stadium entrance for almost an hour.

On Friday, it was reported that Amitabh Bachchan was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai and underwent an angioplasty. However, later in the day, Big B was seen attending an ISPL match in Mumbai. One of the videos from the event has Bachchan talking to a fan who asked about his health and the actor can be heard saying, “Fake news.”

The fan asked, “Amit ji, take care. How are you? All fine?” Bachchan replied that he is doing good and said, “Fake news.” The actor was also spotted having a conversation with Sachin Tendulkar at the stadium. Amitabh was accompanied by Abhishek Bachchan.

He also took to his blog at 2 am on early hours of Saturday and shared his experience during the ISPL finals. He expressed sadness over the defeat but acknowledged that the opposing team played better on the day. He credited the opposing team and vowed to come back stronger next season. Tiigers of Kolkata clinched the first-ever ISPL title by defeating Majhi Mumbai in the final on Friday.

He also shared his experience of getting mobbed outside the stadium and said, “Got stuck at the entrance gate for over an hour .. just immobile .. crowds in their enthusiasm and mobbing did not give us even an inch to move .. and by the time compromised security could get us through our batting innings was over .. and we knew the score was dismal.”


The actor was praise for Abhishek and wrote, “However .. the spirit of sportsmanship should never be overshadowed by defeat .. and the grace shown by Abhishek in meeting all the players soon after the game was over was hugely appreciated .. not just our team but congratulated the Kolkata team as well.

Bachchan was last seen in the film Ganapath with Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon. He will next be seen in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD.
