Actor couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s dream home in Mumbai’s Bandra has been under construction since many years now. The family’s visits to supervise construction — Alia, Ranbir and Neetu Kapoor — were documented by paparazzi and consumed by people on the internet. Now, it seems the family’s home is ready. Compared to a video captured in October last year, their six-storey bungalow seems more complete and polished with many final touches – fencing and plants on every floor. Although, netizens were quick to notice that the front gate is yet to be put in.
A paparazzo shared a video of Ranbir and Alia’s new home on social media, with the caption, “New beginnings in a dream home! Alia & Ranbir’s love nest is finally ready.” The couple has often been snapped visiting the construction site of their house with daughter Raha Kapoor and Ranbir’s mother, actor Neetu Kapoor. They are currently living in their Vastu apartment in Pali Hill, where they also tied the knot in 2022. The Kapoor home has a beautiful grey and light blue exterior with a lot of greenery in the balconies and terrace.
After the clip was posted on Instagram, several fans shared their views about the house, with many questioning the temporary gate. “Itna kharcha ho gaya ki naya gate banane k paise hi nai bache (It cost them so much they decided it doesn’t need a new gate),” a fan joked. Another person wrote, “Ranbir be like main gate nahi banwaunga.” “Gate itna sasta kyu banaya Patre ka?” a comment read.

Named after Ranbir Kapoor’s late grandmother, Krishna Raj Kapoor, several previous reports suggested that the bungalow is a gift for their daughter Raha and will be registered in her name. The reports also indicated that the house costs Rs 250 crore, making it the most expensive celebrity bungalow in Mumbai, even more than Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat and Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa.
The Krishna Raj Bungalow, where Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are building their house, was originally owned by Ranbir’s grandparents, Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor. It was then inherited by the actor’s parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in 1980. Now, Ranbir and Alia are now carrying on the family’s legacy as they plan to move there soon. They even celebrated Diwali and performed the puja in the new house, last year.
On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal in 2023. Alia, on the other hand, last starred in Vasan Bala’s Jigra in 2024, which did not perform well at the box office. The couple is currently shooting together for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War with Vicky Kaushal. Ranbir will also feature in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana as Lord Ram, while Alia has Alpha in her kitty.
