Days after seeking blessings at the Kedarnath temple, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar embarked on a pilgrimage of the Badrinath temple in Uttarakhand on Sunday. The actor’s temple visit was captured in viral videos and photos, where he can be seen accompanied by a large crowd while entering the shrine. Sporting a smear of sandalwood paste on his forehead, Kumar graciously waved at his fans who eagerly congregated outside the temple upon learning of his excursion.

Kumar also shared a stunning aerial video of Uttarakhand on Instagram, captured during his helicopter trip to Badrinath. “The good fortune of shooting in devbhoomi Uttarakhand!! On my way to Shri Badrinath dham. Absolutely amazing. No words. जय बदरी विशाल 🙏,” he wrote.

Kumar, who is shooting for his upcoming film in the state, was also spotted playing volleyball with the police staff recently.

It was on May 23 that the Bollywood actor, who was last seen in Selfiee, visited the Kedarnath shrine. As fans gathered, the actor chanted ‘Har Har Mahadev!’ with the followers joining in. Following the visit, Kumar shared a picture of the temple on Instagram with the caption, ‘Jai baba bholenath’.

Akshay also met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence in Dehradun, ANI reported. Dhami gifted a traditional shawl and memento to the actor.

During the meeting, Pushkar Singh Dhami and Akshay discussed developing Uttarakhand as a film industry hub. “The state of Uttarakhand is emerging as a new shooting destination for the film industry day by day. The natural beauty of Uttarakhand is attracting people for filming. The state government is also working on various schemes to develop Uttarakhand as a big film destination. For this, work is also being done on the new film policy. Many facilities are being provided by the state government to filmmakers for filming,” ANI quoted Dhami as saying.

Akshay will next be seen in ‘OMG- Oh My God 2’ alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. Apart from that, he also has an action thriller, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, lined up. The film also stars Tiger Shroff and will hit the theatres on the occasion of Eid in 2024.

He is also set to star in the third instalment of Hera Pheri. Akshay had earlier said that he had stepped away from the project due to creative differences but he rejoined soon after.
