Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has sent out a new message to the world, and it is about knowing one’s own worth and not giving in to social media trolling. She added that this concerns her as a mother as well. Aishwarya has one daughter with actor Abhishek Bachchan, Aaradhya. Loreal Paris India shared a new video featuring Aishwarya, who has long been the brand’s ambassador.
In the clip, Aishwarya continued the brand’s message of “Because I’m worth it” through their campaign, which focuses on the theme of self-worth in today’s digital age. The actor looked stunning in the video, with open hair and dressed in a white shirt. She said, “I’m worth it, but what really decides that? The kind of pictures posted? The number of likes? Or is it the comments on social media? We have given such power to these things. The power to own our worth.”
Speaking about social media and how she herself deals with it as a woman and mother, she shared, “There’s not much difference between social media and social pressure. As a woman and a mother, it’s a matter of grave concern to think about the power it can have over young minds. Frankly, even impressionable adults. Where every comment and like becomes a measure of one’s self-worth.”
She further added, “This cannot go on. We must make a choice. Let’s not go searching for our self-worth elsewhere, certainly not on social media. The only like that matters is the one that you give yourself. Worth is innate, so look within. Look at yourself in the mirror and say, ‘I’m worth it.’ and most importantly believe it.”
Fans also felt that Aishwarya’s words in the clip reflected her own personal life. The actor was recently in the news for her alleged strained relationship with husband Abhishek Bachchan after the couple posed separately during Anant Ambani’s wedding. While Abhishek posed with his family, Aishwarya posed with Aaradhya for the media at the event. However, videos of the couple laughing and enjoying themselves inside the wedding venue told a different story.
Similarly, Aishwarya has often been seen jetting off on holidays with Aaradhya alone on past occasions. However, recently, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai were all smiles as they returned from a holiday together with their daughter. The couple’s life has been under constant scrutiny, but both continue to work towards maintaining privacy while choosing not to give in to social media trolls and pressure.
