Actor Triptii Dimri seems to be winning in all departments, including both her professional and personal life. Just a few days after signing Sandeep Reddy Banga’s film Spirit, Dimri was seen getting out of a brand new blue Porsche, a car that is worth more than Rs 2 crore. She will be working with Vanga for the second time after she appeared with Animal (2023), alongside Ranbir Kapoor.
She announced her role in the film through Instagram with the caption, “Still sinking in. So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you, Sandeep Reddy Vanga. honoured to be a part of your vision.” This announcement came after fans were shocked to hear of Deepika’s exit from the film. There was a healthy level of anticipation for Prabhas and Deepika reuniting on the screen after Kalki 2898 AD (2029), but according to several Tamil publications, she was “dropped” from the project over a series of demands. A source reported that Deepika was unhappy with the length of the shifts she had to pull, considering the fact that she recently became a mother, and her daughter Dua is only a few months old.
Soon after this news, the makers announced that Triptii will now be working alongside Prabhas in the film, and the official statement on Instagram read, “A powerful new on-screen pairing is here! We’re thrilled to welcome Tripti Dimri on board for our ambitious pan-world film #SPIRIT, starring Prabhas and directed by @imvangasandeep. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, SandeepReddyVanga and PranayReddyVanga. Shooting begins in 2025. Stay tuned for more!” After such a big casting coup, there was bound to be fallout, and the director himself shared a long note on social media, targeting a certain unnamed individual for their lack of “professionalism”.
The note on X (formerly Twitter) came after a Pinkvilla article that talked about the movie’s plot and revealed that it was going to have an “A-rated twist”. The director wrote, “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, you’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are…” The director continued talking about the situation without naming anyone and accused this person of being petty about getting replaced by a younger actor.
Dimri seems to be unfazed by this entire episode; Vanga has made his feelings clear, and Deepika is yet to comment on this entire development.
