After a video featuring Nana Patekar slapping a fan who went to click a selfie with the actor went viral, director Anil Sharma has said that this video was misinterpreted. Anil, who recently directed Gadar 2, said that this was a part of the scene that was being shot and Nana had actually not hit anyone. The video showed that a fan sneaked up to Nana to click a selfie with him but the actor, after slapping him, got him dragged away by the scruff of his neck.
Anil is currently shooting a film called Journey with Nana and told Aaj Tak, “I have just come to know about this news. I was watching the same video just now. Nana has not hit anyone, rather that is a shot from my film. We were filming it on the road in the middle of Banaras, where a boy who comes near Nana has to be hit on the head. Shooting was going on and Nana also hit him.”
Anil Sharma insisted that the crowd that had gathered around to watch the shoot recorded this moment on their phone and social media is now misinterpreting the video. “But the crowd gathered there recorded it on their mobile cameras and then leaked the shot of the film. Now, Nana is being projected as a negative and rude actor on social media, which is completely wrong. Through Aaj Tak, I would request that the fans understand the truth of this video. This is a shot from the film. Nana has not hit anyone,” he said.
A few days ago, Nana Patekar had shared photos from Varanasi with Anil Sharma, and the rest of the team of the film. Anil also shared the same set of photos, which also featured his son Utkarsh Sharma.
Nana Patekar was last seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War.
