Punjabi Singer Rajvir Jawanda Death: Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda, who met with an accident on September 27 in Himachal Pradesh, was declared dead by the doctors at a private hospital in Mohali on Wednesday. He was 35.
The popular singer was on his way to Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla when he lost control of his motorcycle due to stray cattle and met with an accident near Baddi. Jawanda suffered critical injuries in the accident.
Before being shifted to Mohali, Jawanda was taken to a hospital in Solan, where he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was brought to a private hospital in Mohali early Sunday in an “extremely critical” condition.
In a statement, the hospital said Jawanda had sustained serious head and spine injuries in the accident, and was on ventilator support. On arrival, the singer was immediately assessed by teams from the emergency and neurosurgery departments.
Detailed examinations were carried out, and he was placed on advanced life support. He, however, remained in a critical state on ventilator support for all 10 days he was in the hospital. The doctors did not find any improvement in his condition, the hospital stated.
After his accident, his fans had organised ardas (prayers) in gurdwaras. Many artistes, including Kulwinder Billa, Kanwar Grewal, Gippy Grewal, and Hans Raj Hans, visited him in the hospital to show their support. His mother said the film industry was helping the family financially as he was under advanced critical care.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also expressed his concern on social media, sending prayers for the singer’s recovery and urging everyone to keep Jawanda in their thoughts.
Jawanda had completed a training course with the Punjab Police, and considered a career in law enforcement. However, his passion for music and acting eventually took over, leading him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
He is best known for popular songs such as Sardaari, Zor, Kali Jawande Di, Rabb Karke, and Mera Dil. His tracks have been streamed millions of times on platforms like Spotify.
