The much-anticipated trailer for the sixth and the final season of the beloved and long-running web series, The Crown, has been unveiled. The sneak peek of Season 6 offers a glimpse at the aftermath of Princess Diana’s divorce from Prince Charles, her struggle with paparazzi, her fatal car accident and the royal family grappling with grief after her death.

The two-minute and twenty-second trailer begins with Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) wrestling with the relentless pursuit of paparazzi. It later delves into the grief experienced by the royal family, particularly Diana and Charles’ two sons, Harry and William, following Diana’s tragic death in a car accident alongside her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed (played by Khalid Abdalla). A scene in the trailer features Prince Charles, portrayed by Dominic West, remarking after Diana’s passing, “This is going to be the biggest thing that any of us has ever seen.”

The trailer concludes with a poignant glimpse of Diana’s iconic paparazzi photo, featuring her seated in the famous blue swimsuit on the edge of a yacht’s diving board. This scene highlights Diana’s struggle to maintain a sense of privacy after her divorce.

The Crown’s final season will span the years 1997-2005 and is being released in two parts: The initial four episodes will premiere on November 16, focusing on the evolving relationship between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before their fateful car journey.

The concluding six episodes, set to release on December 14, will center on Prince Charles’s wedding to Camilla Parker Bowles, portrayed by Olivia Williams, while also turning the spotlight on Charles’s sons, William and Harry. The cast includes Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II and Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip.

Since its debut on Netflix in 2016, The Crown has catapulted into one of the most iconic drama series. It has amassed a staggering 69 Emmy nominations and secured five wins.
