The much-awaited trailer for Aryan Khan’s debut project, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, is finally here, and it packs in everything from ambition and friendship to nepotism, politics, and power struggles. Produced by Gauri Khan, the Netflix series releases on September 18. It even features a special appearance by Aryan’s father, Shah Rukh Khan.
At the heart of the story is Aasman (played by Lakshya), an ambitious outsider trying to carve a place in the chaotic and unpredictable world of Bollywood. The trailer opens with a journalist grilling him: “Aasman, you must enjoy saying weird things, right? Creating a scene everywhere you go?” To which Aasman, brimming with attitude, replies: “Sir, I am an actor. Creating a scene is my job.”
Soon after, we meet his friend (Raghav Juyal), who instantly declares, “What a killer dialogue.” The trailer also introduces Mona Singh, who plays Aasman’s proud mother, supporting his dream of becoming an actor.
The series boasts a star-studded line-up of cameos, including Rajkummar Rao, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, Aamir Khan, Badshah, and SS Rajamouli, all playing themselves. The series dives into the pap culture, nepotism, and politics.

Enter Sahher Bambba as the daughter of a superstar, played by Bobby Deol, representing the nepotism narrative. She confesses: “Living in someone’s shadow is a struggle in itself.” To this, Aasman retorts: “All I am saying is, come out of your father’s shadow and see how harsh the world is.” The exchange instantly recalls Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday’s viral roundtable moment.
And then, comes Karan Johar in his signature flair: “Nobody makes love stories better than Karan Johar. Naam toh suna hoga?” He seemingly casts Aasman and Sahher in a film together, much to the displeasure of Bobby Deol’s character, who fumes: “This is my daughter’s debut film and this is not the launch I want for her.”
The narrative soon spirals into the darker underbelly of Bollywood–power games, politics, and scandal. Aasman finds himself accused of underworld links, leading to his arrest. Broken and shaken, he admits: “Actor banne aaya tha, laga nahi tha ki itni acting karni padegi.” (I came here to be an actor, didn’t know I’d have to do so much acting).
Packed with intense action sequences, including confrontations between Aasman and Bobby Deol, the series also injects humour. Manoj Pahwa is shown mistaking Shah Rukh Khan for rapper Badshah. When his guard proudly announces, “Badshah has come to meet you,” Pahwa dismisses it with: “Gh**te ka Badshah, I don’t want to see his face.”
The trailer ends on a high note with Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo. Accompanied by his manager Pooja Dadlani, SRK delivers a punch — literally — at the insult, blending humour into the otherwise gritty drama.
