Tanmay Bhat is back in the news as he was tagged as India’s richest YouTuber by Tech Informer, with Rs 665 crore net worth. The list took Tanmay by surprise and he shared a hilarious reaction to reports about his massive net worth. The viral list also included names like Technical Guruji and Bhuvan Bam.

Tanmay is certainly one of the successful Indian YouTubers. He gained fame after his popular channel AIB. A recent report by Tech Informer claimed that Tanmay Bhat is currently the richest YouTuber in India. While he topped the list with the second spot held by Technical Guruji with a reported net worth of Rs 356 crore- almost half of Tanmay’s estimated wealth.

While the list got shared widely on social media, Tanmay reacted to it on X (formerly Twitter), as he wrote, “Bhai itne paise hote toh main YouTube membership nahi bech raha hota (If I had that much money, I wouldn’t be selling YouTube memberships).”

Other than Tanmay Bhat, the top five names in the list of India’s richest YouTuber include Bhuvan Bam (BB Ki Vines) with Rs 122 crore, followed by Amit Bhadana (Rs 80 crore), Triggered Insaan (Rs 65 crore), Dhruv Rathee (Rs 60 crore), BeerBiceps’ Ranveer Allahbadia (Rs 58 crore), and Sourav Joshi (Rs 50 crore), rounding off the top ten list.

Content creation in India has rapidly evolved into a thriving, multi-crore industry. From comedy and technology to education and lifestyle, Indian creators are building massive audiences and generating substantial income through brand collaborations, live events, ad revenue, and merchandise. As Tech Informer noted, “Content creation in India has grown into a multi-crore industry — from comedy to tech, education to lifestyle — creators are building huge audiences and wealth, proving how powerful the digital economy has become.”

Among the early pioneers of this movement is Tanmay Bhat, a comedian, entrepreneur, and writer who co-founded the iconic comedy collective All India Bakchod (AIB) in 2012, alongside Gursimran Khamba, Rohan Joshi, and Ashish Shakya. AIB became a cultural sensation with its sharp sketches, roasts, and political satire, most notably the viral AIB Knockout featuring Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.

Following AIB’s dissolution, Tanmay reinvented himself as an independent content creator. In 2019, he launched his own YouTube channel, where he shares vlogs, comedy sketches, reaction videos, and gaming content. Today, his primary channel boasts millions of subscribers, complemented by his secondary channel, Honestly by Tanmay Bhat, which caters to more niche and thoughtful content.
